Indoor Picnic Tablescape

We had a last minute change of plans on Easter Saturday, so this was pulled together with no notice at all, but it came out super cute and had the perfect spring picnic feel to it.

This blackberry lemonade looking beautiful in a 2 qt canning jar! It added an old fashioned touch.

Egg salad sandwiches are a perfect Easter picnic food.

I make my egg salad with boiled eggs, mayo, mustard and a dill seasoning mix.

I decided to make onion dip using the traditional onion soup and sour cream. I grew up on that stuff, but I think it was the first time my kids had tried it.

I love asparagus season! Asparagus is one of my very favorite veggies, plus it's so pretty and spring-like.

Not all of us appreciate the beauty of asparagus :)

LOVE that tablecloth -- so springy! And the centerpiece is great for that table. The menu sounds great -- love your son's assessment of the asparagus!

Nice idea to make an indoor picnic. I love the picture of your asparagus hater. Are the kids not always the same?

What a nice indoor picnic, at least you don't have to worry about competing with the ants!

Oh, I'm so nostalgic for white bread egg salad sandwiches with no crusts. And blackberry lemonade -- a must-try for summer. So pretty on the yellow background. -- Jane F.

We used to have indoor picnics, and I love yours! How wonderful to punctuate the end of your table story with such a cute picture. That one great photo captures the skepticism children have about the questionable goodness of green food!
