Easy Meatball Subs

Meatball subs are a quick and easy dinner idea. Especially when you use frozen Italian meatballs, bottled spaghetti sauce and preshredded cheese.

I like to butter my sub rolls and brown them on a skillet or frying pan. It's not necessary, but it makes the bread better hold up to the sauce.

Alyssa made her sub actually eatable... Mine was so stuffed I had to eat it with a fork.

If you prefer to make your meatballs homemade here's a simple recipe I've been using for years. It freezes well and it's so easy my kids would make it when they were preschool aged. I'd just make sure they washed their hands well after handling raw meat.

Spaghetti Meatballs

1 lb hamburger
1 pkg dry spaghetti sauce mix

In a bowl, combine hamburger and sauce mix. Shape into one inch balls. Place in a glass pie plate (it might take two). Cover (to control splatters) and microwave seven minutes, rotating half way through. Check for doneness and microwave another minute if needed. Drain. You can also bake these on a cookie sheet in a 350 oven.

Angie,
Very appetizing photo; if I could, I would take the meatball sandwich out of the picture and eat it. Meatballs and tomato sauce are one of my favorites. Happy weekend! :)
