Pear Sauce

We tried some of this the other night with dinner and it was FABULOUS! This is definitely something I'll be making again and again.

Pear Sauce

9 lb pears
1 c. apple juice
2 TBSP lemon juice
1 c. sugar

Peel and core pears. Process in blender until smooth. Simmer until nice and hot (about 10 minutes). Pour into sterilized pint jars. Process 15 minutes. Makes 6 pints.

Angie, you are doing amazing things with fruit this autumn - these all look so yummy!

I was just wondering, if you have any other domestically backward readers like me, could you do a 'canning for dummies' post? I can follow your recipes right up to 'processing' and 'sterilizing'. Do I have to have any special equipment? Can I can just with a pot, stove, sink and a shelf?

Thanks so much! You are amazing!!

That looks delicious! I would never have thought of doing that. You could make applesauce cookies using that and I think it would be yummy!
