Easter Tablescape

Happy Easter everyone! I thought along with showing off my Easter tablescape, I'd break down the cost for all to see :) I do things extremely inexpensively and finding bargains is quite the hobby of mine. The plates and cups I've had for a couple of years and I love to mix and match them; the salt & pepper shakers I use all the time but I'll also include them in the price breakdown, just so you can see the kinds of bargains I love.

This vintage egg was only $1 at a thrift store. I found it this week and fell in LOVE. The salt & pepper shakers are the Target birdies that everyone has. At $5 they are actually the most expensive thing on the table!

This fun bunny tray was .25 at a local dollar store. I grabbed up eight of them, but should have bought more... they're really sweet.

These bunny coasters were on clearance a month ago at Tuesday Morning for only .49 for a whole package.

These are DollarTree tags that came in a large package... I believe they ended up being .05 a tag. The bunny place card holder was part of a set I picked up at an outlet store. The cost for each bunny? .22

A little acrylic paint dressed up some pop bottles that would have been thrown away. The flowers I stole out of one of my arrangements.

The yellow napkins and the napkin under the centerpiece were .25 each bought at thrift stores. The napkin rings were a .50 ea thrift store find. The pink plates were $1 each at Tai Pan. The glasses were .50 each at Walmart and Ikea. The silverware belonged to my grandma when she was first married in 1953. She bought them with grocery store stamps :)

The Breakdown:

plates: $4
cups: $4
napkins: $1.25
bunnies w/tags: $1.08
centerpiece egg: $1
coasters: .12
napkin rings: $2
bunny trays: $1
bottles: free
silverware: vintage
salt & pepper birds: $5

Grand Total: $19.45 Under $20!!! And $13 of that total is plates, cups and s&p shakers that are used on a regular basis and not purchased for this table at all :)

We're having a couple of friends over for Easter dinner on Sunday. I hope you've enjoyed the sneak peak of what my table will look like. Cornish game hens will be on the menu along with baked sweet potatoes, rolls and homemade cheesecake! Yum!

  18. Nice, Angie!

We usually go down to my gramma's for Easter. This Sunday, however, is Stake Conference, and my son is getting the Melchizedek Priesthood! So, needless to say, we're staying in town and rejoicing in his chaste life and being worthy to receive the priesthood.

  28. Cute table. Makes me wonder if I'm ready to make room for a table in my dining, um, nook? Can you call it that when you have to block one of the room exits to get a table in? Regardless, this as totally cute. Thanks for sharing!

  30. You brought back memories with your grandmothers flatware. Gosh I remember those stamps. They were called "green stamps" and my Mom would let me paste them into a little booklet and then we redeemed them at a center. Your table looks great and I like the fact that you made it all happen for so little money. Good planning on your part. Happy Easter.
