I love my piano. It was one of my funnest finds. It's from the 1940s. I had been wanting a piano for a long time and was so happy to get it. Especially because it's just my style. I bought it for only $100. It used to go in the dining room of my last house, but here, it's found it's home in the corner of the living room. The bench was from a neighbor. She was taking it to the dump, so I asked if I could have it. I painted it to match the piano.... I should start tearing myself away from my blog and play more... lol
The stuff on top of the piano has been collected here and there. The three tiered basket was a thrift store find for a buck. The yarn balls in the basket were an after Christmas Ikea find for .25 a package of 3. The TRUST letters came from Tai Pan for $2. The black crow came from the store I used to own. I sold them for $2. The picture frame came from a thrift store for .75. It was ugly brown '70s wood so I painted it and put a sepia pic of me and my hunny inside. It's cool because the glass is a mirror with the center cleared out to see the pic. The bottle was .10 at a yard sale and the flowers inside were free at a yard sale. The two birds on the candlesticks were free at a yard sale. (I bought two cute lamps for my girls' room and they told me I had to choose a free item for each thing I bought.) Next to my piano is an easel I picked up for $5 at a thrift store. The only part I hate about these pics is the ugly blinds. I was sad to find out that my landlord took down all the curtain rods and replaced them with blinds before I moved it :( I have lots of pretty vintage curtain panels I'd love to use.
